Fall Activities to Add to Your Bucket List
Experience the best of the season with this list of our must-dos.
1. Camping
If you think camping is just for the summer months – think again! Many parks are open for visitors in the fall.
The ground can get chilly during fall nights, making truck tents a great alternative to a ground tent. They keep you off the ground (from most unwanted critters), are easier to keep mud or dirt free, and are usually a flatter sleeping surface than the traditional tent. One Canadian Tire’s favourite is the Napier Backroadz Truck Tent that comes in a full size, regular bed, and short bed. Utilize your truck’s interior to store supplies in the gear pockets and hang a camping lantern on the included holder!
An item that shouldn’t be skipped on any camping gear checklist is an emergency or first aid kit. When stores or shops are out of reach, the Adventure Medical Kits 2.0 First Aid Kit helps to give you the resources to treat 1 to 4 people from cuts to allergic reactions.
When driving to your destination, remember that your car could benefit from its own safety kit, too! MotoMaster’s Roadside Safety Kit includes 10G booster cables, a 1 D cell battery, rain poncho and more. What’s even better is that every kit includes a one-year Roadside Assistance Emergency Plan from Canadian Tire Roadside Assistance!
2. Fairs
Fall fairs are an exciting way to spend a day outdoors – no matter your age. Many Canadian cities have autumn fairs that have become a yearly tradition of delicious food, shows, competitions or midways!
To find a fair near you, we suggest keeping up to date with your city’s website or official social media accounts. Some of the popular fall fairs include Markham Fair in Ontario, Salt Spring Island’s Annual Fall Fair in British Columbia, and the Canadian Western Agribition in Saskatchewan.
3. Apple Picking
Apple picking and fall go hand in hand with apple picking season starting around September through to early November. Surround yourself with the calming nature of the orchard and seize the opportunity to breathe in the autumn air. Finally, enjoy your hard-earned work by baking an apple pie, apple crumble, or just by eating the fruit itself!
4. Canadian Tire Roadside Assistance®
The colour of the leaves aren’t the only things changing this season. Autumn weather can mean colder temperatures and wetter conditions, creating slippery roads.
